Long, a four time Pro Bowl selection, only appeared in four games last season with the Atlanta Falcons, working as a reserve lineman for the club. He spent the two years prior to that with the St. Louis Rams after five years with the Dolphins. He has had multiple injury issues during his career, including back, biceps, and knee injuries.
