Bonnie Mandich, Jim Mandich’s wife, passes away

NFL: Preseason-Miami Dolphins at Carolina Panthers Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The wife of former Miami Dolphins tight end and announcer Jim Mandich has passed away. Bonnie Mandich passed away on Monday. She will be laid to rest next to Jim, who succumbed to cancer in 2011.

According to her obituary published in the Miami Herald, Mrs. Mandich is a former Miss Vermont and was an accomplished equestrian. She was both in New Jersey and is survived by her three sons, Michael, Mark, and Nick, as well as her brother Rick Height, sister-in-law Lynn, daughter-in-law Christina, and grandson Thomas.

Jim was a huge part of the Dolphins organization, and continued that after his playing career, both as a broadcaster and as a face for the Dolphins Cancer Challenge. That link to the DCC continues with the passing of Bonnie, as the family has asked, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, with more information at dolphinscancerchallenge.com.

Rest in peace Mrs. Mandich, and our thoughts and prayers with your family.
