The Miami Dolphins will host the Atlanta Falcons in the third preseason game this August, a game that is typically a dress rehearsal for the regular season. There will be one big difference for the Dolphins in the dress rehearsal, however: it will not be at the team's actual home stadium. The NFL announced on Wednesday that the game is being moved to Orlando to be played in Camping World Stadium (formerly Orlando Citrus Bowl).
The game will be held on August 25 at 8pm ET.
The game, which will be nationally televised, was moved to Orlando as a part of the league's build up to the Pro Bowl being held at the stadium in January.
The league asked the Dolphins to move the game to showcase Camping World Stadium. The renovations to Miami's home stadium, which is expected to be completed prior to the game, was not a factor in the movement.
Dolphins season ticket holders will be refunded the cost of the lost preseason game. They will also have first availability to buy tickets to the Orlando game, starting on Monday, June 6. Season ticket holders will be emailed with details about purchasing Orlando tickets this week.
