The NFL has announced the 2016 Preseason schedule, aligning all 32 teams' tune-up games for this summer. The league releases the Preseason schedule in windows, with the matchups given a three- or four-day span of time in which it can be played. The actual kickoff date and time will follow shortly after the initial release.

The full regular season schedule is expected to be released prior to the NFL Draft, which begins three weeks from today. The Dolphins' offseason training program begins on Monday.

The Preseason will begin on August 7, with the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers taking part in the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton Ohio. Kickoff will be at 8pm Eastern.

Miami will once again spend the first two games of the Preseason on the road, giving the team more time to complete renovations on New Miami Stadium (formerly Sun Life Stadium and awaiting a new naming rights deal). Week 1, which will be played between August 11-15, will feature Miami heading to MetLife Stadium to face the New York Giants. The Dolphins are 6-0 all time against the Giants in the Preseason, with the last game having been played in 1994.

In Preseason Week 2, the Dolphins will travel to Texas to play the Dallas Cowboys between August 18-20. The Cowboys lead the Preseason series 6-3. Miami last played the Cowboys in the Preseason in 2014, winning 25-20.

Preseason Week 3 will open New Miami Stadium for the year, with the Dolphins hosting the Atlanta Falcons on a nationally televised NBC game. The contest will be played Thursday, August 25, with kickoff at 8pm Eastern. The Dolphins are 6-8 all-time against the Falcons in the Preseason and won a meeting last summer 13-9.

The Preseason will conclude with the Dolphins hosting the Tennessee Titans on either September 1 or September 2. The Dolphins and Tennessee last met in the Preseason in 1989, hosting the then-Houston Oilers in Jacksonville.

The three non-Thursday Night Football contests will be shown locally on CBS.

The Dolphins' 2016 regular season opponents have been set since the end of the season though the order in which the team will face them will be part of the regular season schedule release.
