The Miami Dolphins have used the 13th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to select Laremy Tunsil.
Tunsil fell in the Draft this year after a video of him smoking what appears to be marijuana appeared on his Twitter account just before the start of the Draft. The video was reported to be legitimate, but that it was from when Tunsil was in high school.
He was originally projected to be the first overall pick in the Draft before the Los Angeles Rams traded with the Tennessee Titans to take that top spot and select California quarterback Jared Goff.
NFL.com's scouting report on Tunsil states:
From a talent and technique standpoint, Tunsil is easily cleanest offensive lineman in the 2016 draft and might be the cleanest prospect period. Tunsil showed signs of rust against Texas A&M in his first game back from a seven-game suspension, and he still kept Myles Garrett in check. Tunsil lacks pure power, but has the body control to be a quality run blocker in space and on levels. Ultimately, his feet, technique and instincts could make him an all-pro and one of the top pass protectors in the NFL.
The Dolphins held the 13th selection after trading back at the start of free agency, moving five positions from the 8th overall pick. In exchange for the 8th pick, the Dolphins received the 13th pick, cornerback Byron Maxwell, and linebacker Kiko Alonso from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles then traded the 8th pick, and several other selections over the next couple of seasons, to the Cleveland Browns for the second overall selection
