Welcome to the Splash Zone, the quickest way to get your day started off right. We bring you a rundown of Miami Dolphins news from the last 24 hours.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

As recent trends would suggest, the Dolphins should look to target a running back early. As recent trends/odds have shown, the earlier a running back is drafted the more likely he is to succeed. The Dolphins appeared to be very interested in Todd Gurly last year, but we will never know if that was a smokescreen or the truth. This year, the Dolphins appear to be interested in the draft's top back, Ezekiel Elliott. If Elliott is there at No.13, look for the Dolphins to pull the trigger.

You can check out that story here, and the rest of the day's round-up below.

Keep it simple, Dolphins: Draft RB Elliott or CB Hargreaves at No. 13 | Miami Herald
Don’t over-think this. Running back and cornerback are the Dolphins’ two most pressing needs. Ezekiel Elliott is the draft’s best back. Vernon Hargreaves is the best pure corner. And Miami should be poised to pounce on either if they get the chance Thursday night.
