The Miami Dolphins are looking to shore up the secondary this offseason, starting with the addition of Isa Abdul-Quddus at the safety position. The cornerback spot, where the team is already adding Byron Maxwell after trading for the former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback, is still a work in progress as Miami appears to be targeting two more options:
The Dolphins are working hard with two cornerbacks. Adam Jones is IN Miami. Prince Amukamara is the other.

The Dolphins could be looking to sign both players, giving them three cornerbacks this offseason to completely re-work the position. They could also be looking at Adam Jones as the top priority, with Amukamara as the fall back option if a deal with Jones cannot be completed.
Jones has ties to the Dolphins, where defensive coordinator Vance Joseph was his defensive backs coach with the Cincinnati Bengals. The 32-year-old was a first round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2005. After two years in Tennesse, and a year suspended, Jones played a year with the Dallas Cowboys and a year with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL, before joining the Bengals in 2010. In six seasons with the Bengals, Jones has appeared in 75 games with 43 starts, picking off 10 passes with out touchdown, defending 56 passes, forcing four fumbels, recovering five fumbles with a touchdown, and recording two sacks. He also had 277 tackles in that span and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015 and was a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2014.
Amukamara, who will turn 27 this summer, was a first round pick of the New York Giants in 2011. He appeared in seven games as a rookie before moving into the starting lineup in 2012, primarily playing as the right cornerback. He has appeared in 55 games with 45 starts, tallying 7 interceptions, 45 passes defensed, 3 forced fumbels, 2 fumble recoveries, and 260 tackles.
The Dolphins, in addition to the recently acquired Maxwell, have cornerbacks Jamar Taylor, Bobby McCain, Tony Lippett, Tyler Patmon, and Chimdi Chekwa on the roster. They released Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes today.
