The Miami Dolphins are bringing back reserve linebacker Spencer Paysinger.

The Miami Dolphins have re-signed linebacker Spencer Paysinger. The news was announced on Tuesday afternoon by Paysinger:

Paysinger started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent in 2011 from Oregon, signing with the New York Giants. He spent four years with New York, appearing in 62 of 64 possible games, recording 14 starts in that span. He signed as a free agent with the Dolphins in 2015, agreeing to a one-year, $745,000 contract. He appeared in 14 games with Miami, working as a reserve linebacker and a special teams player, and recorded 25 tackles.

Paysinger returns to a Miami position group that includes Jelani Jenkins, Koa Misi, Chris McCain, Zach Vigil, Mike Hull, Neville Hewitt, James Michael-Johnson, and Terrell Manning. The team also traded for Kiko Alonso this offseason, penciling him in as the starting middle linebacker. Paysinger will likely resume a role backing up Jenkins at weakside linebacker.
