The AFC Playoff picture changed on Sunday, in large part due to the Miami Dolphins’ six-game winning streak crashing back to Earth with a 38-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The loss from Miami opened the door for the Denver Broncos, who beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-10, to reclaim the sixth seed in the AFC Playoffs. The loss by Jacksonville eliminated them from Playoff contention.
The Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs both won on Sunday, increasing their hold on two of the playoff positions. That also gives the AFC West three teams in the postseason as of today.
The win for the Ravens over Miami keeps them in the AFC North lead, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are still tied with them at 7-5 on the year.
The path to the Playoffs is not impossible for Miami, but it clearly got more difficult on Sunday. Any shot at the AFC East crown probably ended, with the New England Patriots now jumping out to a three-game lead with four games to play.
Here are the current AFC playoff standings, with the Monday Night Football game between the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets still to play.
