The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have released their respective inactive players lists for today’s 1pm ET showdown. The NFL requires teams to make seven players “inactive” for each game, allowing them to carry only 46 players into each game.
For the Dolphins, there are not a lot of surprises on the list, even though some of the players would be key contributors if they were healthy. The Dolphins inactives are safety Jordan Lucas, cornerback Xavien Howard, cornerback Bene Benwikere, defensive end Nick Williams, defensive end Terrence Fede, tackle Sam Young, and tight end Dion Sims.
The Jets side of the list includes quarterback Christian Hackenburg, tight end Kellen Davis, linebacker Darron Lee, linebacker Bruce Carter, center Nick Mangold, offensive lineman Brent Qvale, and tight end Eric Tomlinson.
Both teams updated their lineups, with Miami tight end MarQueis Gray starting in place of Sims, cornerback Tony Lippett starting in place of Howard, and the Dolphins will also start defensive end Andre Branch over Mario Williams.
The Jets will start a third wide receiver, Robby Anderson, in place of David, linebacker Julian Stanford for Lee, and center Wesley Johnson in place of Mangold.
