I can wear my Dolphins gear with some pride today

The Miami Dolphins are currently in the hunt for the playoffs and I am ecstatic to say the least. The last time the team made the playoffs, I was in 7th grade. I was there when they clinched against the Jets. I remember Chad Pennington leading the Dolphins to a 24-17 victory as they finished the season 11-5. After that game, I exited the stadium with a smile on my face as I witnessed many Miami fans hugging each other while screaming our fight song. That team was exciting to watch because of players like Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams who brought a certain type of swagger to the team.

Ever since that cold December day in 2008, the Dolphins have been content with being mediocre. As fans of this team, we can agree that Miami gives us hope that they are turning the corner yet each season they seem to just collapse at the wrong time.

This year has a different vibe to it. The last two weeks they played in difficult games and they overcame adversity. Under Philbin, the Dolphins would've lost to the Jets and Chargers. We would be talking about the draft instead of the playoffs, but here we are. The Dolphins are on a win streak and the team is 5-4 moving in the right direction. You have to credit Adam Gase after a difficult start to the year.

As the season progresses, the Dolphins have two winnable games against the Rams and 49ers that could give them a 7-4 record. In previous years, the team would get blown out in both of these games or lose in a heartbreaker finish, but I expect this team to come out swinging and beat these teams like they should.

Today, I rock my Suh jersey on victory Monday around my campus with some pride, which is a great feeling.
