For the second straIght week, Jay Ajayi ran for over 200 yards. For the second straight week, the Miami Dolphins running back was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. And, now, for the second straight week, Ajayi was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
Ajayi backed up his 204-yard performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6 with an even better 214-yard contest against the Buffalo Bills in Week 7. He has the only 200-yard performances this year, with Cincinnati Bengals running back Jeremy Hill the closest with 168 yards last week. Ajayi also leads the league with a 6.4-yards-per-attempt average. He is 1.1-yards per rush ahead of the second highest average, LeSean McCoy’s 5.3 per attempt.
Ajayi is seventh in the league in rushing yards with a season total of 535 yards on 84 carries.
Ajayi and the Dolphins will next play on November 6 in a home game against the New York Jets.
