Jay Ajayi nominated for Ground Player of Week (again)

Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi has been nominated for the FedEx Jay Ajayi Award for his Week 7 performance against the Buffalo Bills. What? Oh, it’s not the Jay Ajayi Award? It should be at this point, right?

Okay, so Ajayi is nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for Week 7, a week after winning it for his performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ajayi won it after Week 6 for his 204 yard, 2 touchdown game. This week, against the Bills, Ajayi broke the 200-yard mark again, picking up 214 yards with one touchdown.

Again, can we just go ahead and change the name to the FedEx Jay Ajayi Award?

The other ground nominees - also known as the players who will lose to Ajayi - are Cincinnati Bengals running back Jeremy Hill (9 carries, 168 yards, 1 TD) and New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount (24 carries, 127 yards, 2 TDs).

The air nominees are Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck (27-for-39, 353 yards, 3 TDs), New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (37-for-48, 367 yards, 3 TDs), and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (39-for-56, 326 yards, 3 TDs).
