According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers have filed a formal complaint with the NFL regarding this play. Suh clearly kicks Roethlisberger on his right leg, the real question becomes what the sanctions, if any, will be. A fine seems like the most likely outcome, considering Vontaze Burfict, with a larger history of targeting, received a $75,000 fine for his actions last Sunday.

It is worth noting, that even despite the questionable sportsmanship on a play like this, Suh kicked Roethlisberger’s right leg, while Roethlisberger’s meniscus surgery was performed on his left knee. The incident would altogether be different if it directly contributed to the meniscus damage: Suh would be facing a much more determined monster if an act such as this directly caused injury to one of the biggest names in the grandest position in all of the NFL.

More to follow from the league regarding this incident, and a response to the formal complaint is unknown at this time.
