The Miami Dolphins may have lost safety Reshad Jones for the season with a torn rotator cuff, but they've beefed up their defensive line. The team claimed lineman Nick Williams off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs Wednesday, hoping he can help them in the trenches.
Williams was a seventh-round pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013 before becoming a member of the Chiefs in 2014. He recorded 14 tackles in 21 games in Kansas City.
Since the Dolphins have opted to not add another defensive back, they're left with three safeties on the roster: Isa Abdul-Quddus, Michael Thomas, and Walt Atkins. The season isn't even halfway over, and the war of attrition has seemed to already catch up with the Dolphins' D.
