The final game of the NFL's Wildcard Weekend will take the field in the late afternoon on Sunday. The Green Bay Packers will face the Washington Redskins the Nation's capital. The two teams did not play each other in the regular season.
The Packers fell to the fifth seed on the NFC side of the bracket when they lost to the Minnesota Vikings in a Week 17 contest. They started the season winning their first five games before a three game losing streak brought Green Bay back to the rest of the NFC. Three more wins in a row seemed to indicate they were back up to form, but a blowout loss in Week 16 to the Arizona Cardinals set up the winner-take-the-division showdown with Minnesota.
The Redskins started the season 2-4 and looked like they were out of any chance of making the Playoffs this season. An injury to Tony Romo sidelined the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, however, and suddenly the NFC East became wide open. Throughout the year, the Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants would all be declared the favorites to win the division, but the Redskins stayed under the radar and just racked up wins. A three-game win streak to end the season pushed them into the division title.
