Patriots at Dolphins Week 17 inactive players

The Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots released their inactive players list for today's game.

The Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots have released their inactive players lists for their Week 17 showdown. Kickoff for the game is at 1pm ET from Miami's Sun Life Stadium. The Patriots will be looking to lock up the top seed in the AFC Playoffs, while the Dolphins are just trying to get to the end of the season.

Under NFL rules, a team may carry up to 53 players on the "active" roster throughout the season, but may only have 46 "active" players during a game. That means each team, 90-minutes before the start of the game, have to announce seven players that will not dress for the game, declaring them "inactive."

Here are the inactive players for both teams:

Patriots

Justin Coleman, cornerback
Julian Edelman, wide receiver
Jonathan Freeny, linebacker
Dont'a Hightower, linebacker
Chandler Jones, defensive end
Sealver Siliga, defensive tackle
Sebastian Vollmer, tackle

Dolphins

Mike Pouncey, center
Jelani Jenkins, linebacker
Earl Mitchell, defensive tackle
Ja'Wuan James, tackle
Jamar Taylor, cornerback
Logan Thomas, quarterback
Shelley Smith, guard
