The first week of the NFL season is here, and it cannot come fast enough. According to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson, tension and frustration boiled over during a special teams meeting on Thursday for the Miami Dolphins, with wide receiver Jarvis Landry and running back LaMike James getting into a shoving match in the team facility. According to five different sources for Jackson, the event happened after Landry was joking around prior to the start of the meeting.
Jackson's sources go on to state that nothing Landry said or did was directed toward James, but that James came into the room in what "appeared to be a bad mood" and, eventually, shoved Landry. After a few pushes back and forth, the incident was broken up, with no injuries sustained.
Landry apologized to James, and both players apologized to the entire team on Friday. No discipline is expected from the incident.
The Dolphins kick off against the Washington Redskins at 1pm ET today. After a long offseason and training camp, the Dolphins will finally be able to take their frustrations out on someone else.
