Reggie Wayne and New England Patriots have reached agreement on a one-year deal, league source told ESPN.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 24, 2015
The New England Patriots have added free agent wide receiver Reggie Wayne on a one year contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move bolsters a wide receiving corps that saw two players, Brandon Gibson and Brian Tyms, both suffer injuries last week.
Wayne, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, spent the first 14 years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts. He has 1,070 career receptions for 14,345 yards and 82 touchdowns. Last season, he started all 15 games in which he appeared for Indianapolis, catching 64 passes for 779 yards and two touchdowns. Wayne became a free agent this offseason when the Colts did not re-sign him, allowing his contract to expire.
The Patriots hosted Wayne on a free agent visit, to include a physical, on Monday. Check out Pats Pulpit for more on Wayne's signing.
