Patriots looking to sign Reggie Wayne

The New England Patriots could be adding wide receiver Reggie Wayne.

The New England Patriots could looking to bolster their offense with free agent wide receiver Reggie Wayne, according to a report today:

Adding Wayne would add another weapon to a wide receiver corps currently consisting of Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell, Danny Amendola, Aaron Dobson, and Josh Boyce.  The Patriots are also dealing with injuries at the position and may have lost Brian Tyms, the former Miami Dolphins receiver, for the year this week when he injured his foot during a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints. During Saturday's game against the Saints, Brandon Gibson, another former Dolphins wide out, left the game with an apparent knee injury.

Wayne, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, has spent all 14 years of his career thus far with the Indianapolis Colts. He has 1,070 career receptions for 14,345 yards and 82 touchdowns. Last season, he started all 15 games in which he appeared for Indianapolis, catching 64 passes for 779 yards and two touchdowns. Wayne became a free agent this offseason when the Colts did not re-sign him, allowing his contract to expire.
