Brent Grimes barely cracked NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2014 list at No. 95 overall. On this year's list, his talents are better appreciated.
Grimes on Wednesday was revealed as the No. 38-ranked player on NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2015. And much of his segment focused on the jaw-dropping leap and interception he had against the Detroit Lions in Week 10 last season. The play is especially noteworthy because of Grimes' coverage assignment on the play: Calvin "Megatron" Johnson.
"Calvin and I spoke about it, and Calv thought it was going to be an easy touchdown because he thought (Grimes) mistimed the jump. I mean, that guy jumped 35-40 inches and then one-hand snagged it."
Golden Tate, Detroit Lions wide receiver
"It was kind of like how you grab a rebound--you palm it and then you kind of smack it; you want to let everybody know that you had that rebound. It was awesome, because you got up higher than Megatron."
Jared Odrick, former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle
"That's a highlight play for all highlight plays. The guy's off the ground probably higher than he is tall. The guy is a blanket."
John Kuhn, Green Bay Packers fullback
"He plays with confidence. Great tackler--he does it all."
Jordy Nelson, Green Bay Packers wide receiver
