90-in-90 Breaking Down the Miami Dolphins Roster: Brent Grimes

Breaking down the Miami Dolphins' 90-man roster over 90 days. Today, we look at cornerback Brent Grimes.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

We bring back our annual look at the Miami Dolphins' roster heading into training camp, a series we call 90-in-90. Over the next 90 days (or a few more as roster changes happen), we will take a look at each individual player on the roster, review what they did in 2014 either in the NFL or in college, then take a look at how they might progress or regress this season, and the chances that player will make the roster.

BRENT GRIMES

2014 Review:

2014 was Grimes' second year with the Dolphins after signing with the team in 2013.

Grimes recorded 57 tackles, 5 interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Grimes was selected to the Pro Bowl, his second consecutive with the Dolphins.

Why he might progress:

Tough to think of a reason.

Grimes is a shutdown corner and has reached his ceiling.

Why he might regress:

Grimes is getting older and is not the tallest of players.

His age may show this season. Grimes may not be as fast as he used too.

Chances he makes the 53-man roster:

Grimes will be the starting cornerback for the Dolphins when the season begins. He will most likely be considered for the Pro Bowl again. Grimes has a great attitude and I would love to have him on my team. How many more years does Grimes have left though?
