In what may turn out to be a defining season for Dolphins head coach, Joe Philbin, it finally seems the team are heading in the right direction.
The Dolphins reeled in free agency's top prize in Ndakukong Suh, they watched wide receiver DeVante Parker fall to their 1st overall pick and they signed a proven veteran in wide receiver Greg Jennings and an ascending player Kenny Stills.
It's these types of moves where the front office seem to have finally put together a roster capable of making the playoffs.
Can't get yards after the catch? Check. The Dolphins signed a clutch of wide receivers that look capable of fitting better in this offense than their predecessors.
Don't have a good 1-2 punch at running back? Taken care of. Jay Ajayi and Lamar Miller have so much potential.
Having trouble stopping the run? No problem. Who's getting past Ndamukong Suh?
The list could go on and on....
Which brings me back to my point - Joe Philbin is firmly on the hot seat. Over the past three years, he's won twenty-three games, and lost twenty-five. During that same timeframe, the team has gone 7-9, 8-8 and 8-8. Clearly a repeat of those numbers won't be tolerated by the owner, the fans and the front office. He needs to deliver, and fast.
So how satisfied are you with the performance of Philbin? Can he make it fourth time lucky and take this team into the playoffs?
