The NFL released the 2015 schedule tonight, putting all 256 league regular season contests on the calendar over a 17 week span. While the common thought around an NFL schedule is Sunday afternoon contests, there are also the stand-alone prime time games. This year, the Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night games will also include some Saturday night games.
The league typically looks to place intriguing contests into the prime time slots, trying to draw as many viewers as possible. That usually leads to the top teams in the league getting more of the games, as we see below.
Taking a look at the AFC East, the New England Patriots lead the way with five games this season. Then the second- and third-place teams from the division last year, the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are jumped by the New York Jets, who have three prime time games this season. The Bills and Dolphins each have two.
The Bills, Dolphins, and Jets will also take part in 9:30am ET games this year, when each of them plays in London as a part of the International Series.
