The AFC East just became a little more interesting.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday afternoon notified linebacker Kiko Alonso that he will be traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for running back LaSean McCoy. The trade will become official next week.

The deal will reunite Alonso with his college coach, Chip Kelly, who is head coach in Philadelphia. Alonso made a big splash with the Bills during his rookie season in 2013, but missed the entire 2014 campaign as a result of a torn ACL suffered during an offseason workout.

Meanwhile, McCoy will join a Bills team that is preparing for its first season under head coach Rex Ryan. A former University of Pitt backfield standout, McCoy was selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2009 draft. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in four of his six seasons in Philadelphia, including a 1,607-yard campaign in 2013.
