It's NCAA Tournament time. Are you ready with your bracket? Would you like to prove you are the best among the Phinsider types? Here's your chance, and we do it with a little bit of a twist this year.
For the 2015 edition of March Madness, we will be using Real Time Brackets, a company that is introducing a new twist into the time-worn format: The ability to change your bracket whenever you want, however many times you want, in real time -- even while a game is being played. You can make sure you have a perfect bracket, but there's a cost: You wont earn as many points for changing picks mid-game as you would for sticking with a team from the start. Essentially it's a system that not only makes every game count, it makes every minute matter.
You get to make the choice, do you trust your pick to come back and win when they are down by five with just minutes left in the game, giving you the full set of points for the game, or do you switch your pick, earning less point, but at least getting something out of the competition?
Real Time Brackets has three different options. You can do the traditional bracket, where you pick the winners from the games before the tournament starts, and you ride your bracket the rest of the way. You can do a bracket where it will allow you to make changes after games are complete. Or, you can do the full version where you can switch teams in the middle of the game, if you choose.
You can sign up for your bracket right here. I've made two groups if you would like to join with our Phinsider types. One is the of the traditional game and one is for the full switching during the game type. If you would like to join, after you make your picks, select "Groups" at the top of the page. Then select "Join Group" and search for The Phinsider. Two groups will pop up, one listed as "Traditional" and one "RTB" for the advance game.
Hope to see you all in the groups!
