The Miami Dolphins have added cornerback Brice McCain, according to multiple reports. The move adds to a cornerback corps that currently features Brent Grimes, Jamar Taylor, Will Davis, Sammy Seamster, Lowell Rose, and Walt Aikens. The contract is reported to be a two-year deal worth $5.5 million, with $3 million guaranteed.

McCain was a sixth round pick of the Houston Texans in 2009, playing five years with the team. He spent last year with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have already made an offer to re-sign him. He recorded three interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 31 tackles in 14 games played last season.

A career backup, McCain made the most of his opportunity to start last year when the Steelers' Ike Taylor was injured. He has now turned that into a shot at becoming the starting cornerback opposite Grimes.

The Dolphins released starting cornerback Cortland Finnegan earlier this offseason. Finnegan announced his retirement today.
