The Miami Dolphins are not simply waiting for Ndamukong Suh to sign his contract at this point, they are still actively pursuing other free agent targets. One of those targets, cornerback Brice McCain, met with the team last night, and contract terms have been discussed, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero.
McCain was a sixth round pick of the Houston Texans in 2009, playing five years with the team. He spent last year with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have already made an offer to re-sign him. He recorded three interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 31 tackles in 14 games played last season.
Jeff.Hartman of Behind the Steel Curtain writes of McCain:
A poor season for Cortez Allen and an Ike Taylor injury thrust McCain into a starting role, and he thrived. McCain wasn't the weak link in the Steelers' secondary, and because of his play in 2014, he is drawing interest from several NFL franchises as a free agent.
The Minnesota Vikings are also interested in McCain.
