I get tired of multiple draft analysts suggesting Miami are a long way from a Super Bowl. To go with their satirical nonsense, they point to the team's numerous deficiencies on both offense and defense. Running back, guard, tight end, wide receiver, defensive tackle, linebacker x2, corner, safety.....it's enough to make any Dolphins brain, well, literally explode!
You can call me crazy. You can call me a genius. But you don't have to be a prophet to suggest that the team that just won the Super Bowl (yes you guessed it, the New England Patriots) are a perfect team with no weaknesses. Absolute ludacris!
Really good teams win games by masking their deficiencies. Sign great players, and surround them with good players. The problem with the Dolphins is that they have surrounded themselves with good players, but not great players.
The solution? It's time to sign a great player.
Ever heard of Ndamukong Suh? If I were Dennis Hickey, Joe Philbin, Stephen Ross...hell if I were the waterboy, I'll be turning every stone to ensure this guy lands in Miami. Overpay all you like, this player is one of the best players in the NFL. You watch him stop the run. You watch Jared Odrick become a Pro Bowler by playing alongside him. This is the kind of signing we need to make. Great players make good players look very good, and even average players look good.
Stop signing average over-paid players Miami. Why pay over the odds for them? I'd much rather pay over the odds for a difference maker.
It's not science people, it's how you build a franchise. Just ask the Patriots.
