The NFL has announced the matchup for the first game of the 2015 NFL year. Of course, that game is a preseason game, but it is still a game, and it will be the first one played, getting us back into watching football. This year, the annual Hall of Fame Game will feature the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings.
The teams participating in the game will pick up a fifth preseason game, while the rest of the league will begin their respective exhibition slate of games a week later, typically playing two home games and two away games.
The 2015 Hall of Fame Game will be played on Sunday, August 9 in Canton, Ohio. Kickoff is set for 8pm ET, with television coverage on NBC.
On Saturday, August 8, the NFL will induct eight new members into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Class of 2015 is Junior Seau, Jerome Bettis, Charles Haley, Tim Brown, Will Shields, Mick Tingelhoff, Ron Wolf and Bill Polian.
