2016 NFL Draft order through Week 13: Dolphins moving out of top ten picks

The 2016 NFL Draft order has been updated following the results of Week 13 of the 2015 regular season.

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, keeping their microscopic playoff hopes alive. The win also moved them away from a top five selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, moving them back up into the double digit selection range after being sixth last week.

The NFL uses the previous season's record to set draft order, with the worst record picking first, then continuing in reverse order of the standings to set the first 20 selections. Picks 21 through 32, which will be the teams that qualify for the Playoffs, are then set by the round in which a team loses in the postseason, with the Super Bowl champion picking last. Ties are broken using overall strength of schedule followed by conference record then division record. If all of that is equal, a coin flip takes place at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. The strength of schedule below uses full-season schedules.

The league also rotates each round the teams that finish tied record wise. That means, for example, the Jacksonville Jaguars are currently fourth in draft order with a 4-8 record. There are seven teams with a 4-8 record, so in the second round, the Jaguars would select tenth, while the Baltimore Ravens, who pick fifth in the first round, would move up to fourth in the second round. That rotation would continue throughout the draft, with Jacksonville moving to ninth in the third round and the Ravens to tenth.

The complete draft order as it currently stands is below, thanks to Mocking the Draft's Dan Kadar.
