The 7 and 7 Washington Redskins travel to Pennsylvanian to take on the 6 and 8 Philadelphia Eagles this evening. Normally a team with a 500 record with only 2 games to play in the season would either already be out of the playoffs or maybe hoping for several things to fall into place just right so that they could claim a wildcard spot in the playoffs. Well as fate would have it in the horrible NFC East, 7 and 7 is just enough for the Redskins to hold the lead their division.
The Eagles who would normally seem out of the playoffs with their sub .500 record of 6 and 8 still have a shot at not only the playoffs but at winning their division. A win tonight over the Redskins would give the Eagles the lead in their division. Both teams would have identical records with the first tie breaker a push with head to head being 1-1 for both clubs. The second tie breaker would then go to Philly with both 2-2 in the division coming into the game. Also, still in the picture for the division title is the New York Giants who are also 6 and 8 coming into the week. The Gaints play the Eagles in the final game of their season.
