Reshad Jones was snubbed out of the Pro Bowl roster pool this year, with multiple analysts pointing to it as one of the biggest snubs for this year. On Wednesday, Jones acknowledged that he has been listed as an alternate for the game, but also told reporters that he may not accept the all-star spot if it is offered:
#Dolphins Reshad Jones says he won't play in Pro Bowl if he's selected as an alternate. Thought he deserved to make it yesterday

Reshad Jones isn't happy about Pro Bowl snub. He said he prob won't play if he's in as an alternate. Jones called it a "popularity contest."

Reshad Jones says he's an alternate for the Pro Bowl, but if called up, he probably won't play in it. Bad taste in his mouth.

He did soften his stance a little after a few minutes, opening the door to his accepting a spot on the Pro Bowl a little more:
Reshad Jones says he probably wouldn't play in the Pro Bowl if picked as alternate. Then he said, "I might."

Clearly, Reshad Jones is hurting about not getting picked." He is an alternate.

Reshad Jones concedes he might have a change of heart and accept alternate selection to Pro Bowl after he cools off.

Jones absolutely deserves to be in the game this year, and he deserves to have been named to the roster and not be an alternate who gets added to the game. His frustration is understandable, but it would be a shame if he lets that frustration get the better of him and keep him from being rewarded for an outstanding year. In his shoes, we all might feel the same way, but Jones deserves to get the trip to Hawaii on the NFL's dime, and, if it is offered, hopefully he will cool off and accept - even if the voting clearly snubbed one of the top safeties in the league.
