Reshad Jones is Pro Bowl alternate, 'probably' will not play if called up

Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones acknowledged on Wednesday that he is a Pro Bowl alternate, but then added that he probably will not play in the game if he is called up to the game.

Reshad Jones was snubbed out of the Pro Bowl roster pool this year, with multiple analysts pointing to it as one of the biggest snubs for this year. On Wednesday, Jones acknowledged that he has been listed as an alternate for the game, but also told reporters that he may not accept the all-star spot if it is offered:

He did soften his stance a little after a few minutes, opening the door to his accepting a spot on the Pro Bowl a little more:

Jones absolutely deserves to be in the game this year, and he deserves to have been named to the roster and not be an alternate who gets added to the game. His frustration is understandable, but it would be a shame if he lets that frustration get the better of him and keep him from being rewarded for an outstanding year. In his shoes, we all might feel the same way, but Jones deserves to get the trip to Hawaii on the NFL's dime, and, if it is offered, hopefully he will cool off and accept - even if the voting clearly snubbed one of the top safeties in the league.
