The 8 and 5 New York Jets travel down to Arlington Texas this evening to take on the 4 and 9 Dallas Cowboys. Going into this week the Jets hold the 6th and final spot in the AFC Playoffs, the final wildcard position. The Jets will be looking for a win this evening to keep pace with the Kansas City Chiefs, who currently hold the 1st AFC wildcard position with their identical 8 and 5 records. Hot on the Jets heels, and in the 7th spot in the AFC, sitting just outside of the playoffs at this point, are the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have won their last two games and have hopes of keeping pace with the Chiefs and Jets and slipping into the playoffs if either of the two stumbles in their final three games.
On the other side of the ball the Dallas Cowboys, who despite their terrible record, still hold on to the hope of making the playoff despite the slimmest of odds. The Cowboys are already ruled out of making the playoffs via the wildcard route, with the two NFC teams currently sitting in NFC's 5th and 6th spots each having four more victories than the Cowboys with only three more games to go in this season. The Cowboys only hope of making the playoffs this year is that they somehow win their final three games and the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants, who all three have a 6 and 7 record, somehow all fall apart down the stretch. Good luck with all that!
