Rex Ryan is afraid. He should be. Dan Campbell is not someone with whom you want to mess, and Ryan knows it. As much as the Buffalo Bills' head coach loves to talk (or loves to hear himself talk), he suddenly stopped the animated, over-the-top act when asked about the Miami Dolphins' interim head coach.
"Most times when I go across field I can whip most head coaches, but I ain’t whipping that one," Ryan laughingly told ESPN on Wednesday (I'm assuming it was a nervous laugh, but maybe that's just me). "I’m not even trying to whip that one. He’s a big dude, man. I’m 52 years old. I’d like to see 53."
As NFL.com points out, "Dan Campbell has certainly taken over the No. 1 role in anyone's fictional coach Royal Rumble." Maybe Ryan is right to be afraid.
The Dolphins will face off against the Bills on Sunday at 1pm ET. Look for Ryan to be curled up in the corner hoping Campbell does not look his way.
