The Miami Dolphins made a needed roster move on Saturday, adding linebacker Mike Hull to the active roster from the practice squad, giving the team depth at linebacker and a special teams addition following various injuries around the team. To make space for Hull, Miami waived defensive tackle A.J. Francis, with indications that, once he cleared waivers, the team planned to bring Francis back to the club.  Except, he did not clear waivers.

The Seattle Seahawks were awarded Francis off waivers today. Francis had only appeared in one game for Miami this year, contributing one tackle, but was seen as a developmental defensive tackle, and one who was projected to earn a bigger role on the team in the future.

Francis was also a character on the team. This offseason, he made waves when he announced he had applied to be an Uber driver in South Florida, then actually did take on the extra job.

Francis joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2013, coming out of Maryland. After an impressive training camp and preseason, he was among the last of the team's roster cuts as the NFL limit dropped to the in-season 53-man roster. The Dolphins and Francis appeared to have a practice squad deal in place, but he instead headed to the New England Patriots, who had claimed him off of waivers. A week later, the Patriots waived Francis, signing him back to their practice squad. Miami then poached him near the end of November, bringing Francis back to South Florida and onto a spot on the 53-man roster.

Francis continued to impress in the 2014 training camp and preseason, working his way into an apparent second-string position, as well as getting work with the starters. He landed on injured reserve, however, as preseason came to a close, following a knee injury sustained in the team's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.

He will now join the Seahawks, but he made sure to leave a message for everyone on his way out of Miami:
