The 11 and 5 Indianapolis Colts will travel to the Mile High City this afternoon to take on the 12 and 4 Denver Broncos in the second of two AFC divisional playoff games this weekend. The two teams started the season against one another in the same setting, Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Both teams are hoping to not end the season playing the same team that they began the season playing. The Bronco's won that first meeting 31 to 24. It was a game that saw Denver's starting quarterback Peyton Manning throw for three touchdowns and no interceptions while Indy's starter, Andrew Luck threw two touchdowns but also two interceptions.
Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos should enter the game well rested coming off of their bye week. This afternoons game will also mark the third time that Manning has faced his former team, the Colts, since being cut following the 2011 season. Manning's record going in to this week vs. his former team is 1 and 1 with the home team winning each time. The Denver Broncos faithful are hoping that Peyton Manning will bounce back from his sub par December. The Broncos managed to win three of those four games but with Manning only posting a 76.8 rating over that same period and throwing only three touchdowns to six interceptions.
The Colts arrive in Denver coming off a their wild-card round victory over the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 26 to 10. Starting quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 376 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions against the Bengals. Luck is hoping to carry over that success this week. Luck is also coming off a season where he threw for 4,761 yards and a league leading 40 touchdowns. Also coming up big for the Colts against the Bengals was wide-receiver T.Y. Hilton and running back Daniel Herron. Hilton accounted for six receptions for 103 yards while Herron pitched in with ten receptions for 85 yards as well as 56 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown.
