Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The Giants travel to Detroit hoping to not only be murdered but also to get off to a good start after beginning last season with six straight losses. The Giant's made a ton of changes to the team and roster in the off-season in hopes of not repeating what they experienced in their disappointing 2013 campaign. Starting quarterback Eli Manning and his team rebounded for a 7 and 3 record over the final 10 games but the damage was already done and the Giant's not only missed the playoffs but any chance of being the first team to play a Superbowl in their home stadium. The biggest change of the off-season for the Giants might be the hiring of a new offensive coordinator, Ben McAdoo, formally of Green Bay to install a new offensive system that will now see Eli at the helm of a West Coast offense.

While the Giants problems were primarily at the beginning of the 2013 season, the Lions on the other hand had an epic collapse at the end of the season dropping 6 of their 7 final contest. Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford will want to start off the season strong after a season that saw him once again throw for over 4,500 yards but also far too many INT's having thrown 19 last season. He will as usual be looking for his favorite target and possibly the NFL's best player in Calvin Johnson. Johnson ended 2013 having caught 110 balls for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns. Former Dolphin Reggie Bush also kicked in 1,006 yards on the ground for the Lions. The biggest change this off season for the Lions was the departure of head man Jim Schwarts who was let go and replaced by Jim Caldwell who is known for being offensive minded.
