The Miami Dolphins host the Kansas City Chiefs in the late slate of games today. Whether or not they will face Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will be a game time decision.
Charles suffered a high ankle sprain last week, an injury that typically takes at least a couple of weeks for recovery. Charles returned to practice for the Chiefs just four days after the injury, and is listed as questionable for today's game.
Various reports today have said both Charles will not play, and that Charles may play.
The Dolphins and Chiefs do not kick off until 4:25pm ET. Kansas City really does not have to ever announce what will happen with Charles, potentially even leaving him on the 46-man active roster, but never playing him. Fantasy football fans, of course, are all hoping for early news on Charles, but it does not appear they will get that.
Knile Davis will be the Chiefs feature back on the day if Charles is not able to play. He will be more of a pure rushing threat, rather than an all-around back like Charles.
The Dolphins and Chiefs should be releasing their inactives list shortly. We shall see if Charles is mentioned on it.
UPDATE: Charles has been declared inactive.
