The Eagles come in to tonight's game looking to start the 2014 season 2 and 0 while the Colts are looking to avoid going 0 and 2 to start out their campaign.
The Eagles started out the season slow, at least for the first half of their first game. They made last years hapless Jacksonville Jaguars look like world beaters and former Dolphins QB Chad Henne look like Dan Marino going in to the half down 17 to 0. To make matters worse the Eagles were forced to start their second half down their starting All Pro left guard Even Mathis and right tackle Allen Barbre. After fumbling twice and throwing an interception in the first quarter and a half quarterback Nick Foles snapped back to his 2013 form leading his team to a 34-17 win. The Eagles as a team are hoping the momentum that they found in the second half of last weeks contest will carry over to this weeks game.
The Colts come in to tonight's game missing their NFL sack leader from last season Robert Mathis. Mathis was in the mist of a 4 game suspension by the league for substance abuse when he his Achilles tendon during a private workout. He is not likely lost for the season. Missing their best pass rusher and unable to generate much pressure on the QB last week the Colts will have their hands full with the fast paced Eagles offense. Andrew Luck will also have to play better if they hope to win this week who despite throwing for 370 yards and two touchdowns also threw two interceptions.
