When Mike Pouncey underwent hip surgery this summer, the Dolphins worked out Samson Satele but didn't make him an offer. But with blown snaps becoming a regularity at practice, and with Pouncey out indefinitely, Miami has signed Satele.

Most of the focus surrounding the 2014 Miami Dolphins has been on the offensive side of the ball with the development of the third year quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the new offensive line. Miami’s defense has quietly been flying under the radar after a performance last year that was eighth-best in the league in points allowed. In fact, the Dolphins have finished in the top eight in points allowed the past two seasons, a feat also only accomplished by Seattle, San Francisco, and Cincinnati. Miami also allowed the third fewest passing touchdowns in 2013. While the offensive looks to be a work in progress at this point during training camp, the defense looked primed and ready to be impact players this upcoming season.

Football returned to Sun Life Stadium for the first time in 2014 as the Miami Dolphins held their annual scrimmage. The day started with each position going through their typical routines. Each position worked on individual drills and then came together as a unit for the scrimmage. Lasting approximately 75 minutes, the team went through a variety game-like situations with just about every available participating. Today’s scrimmage pitted the first, second, and third teams of each side of the football against one another.
