The Miami Dolphins have begun their roster cuts, reducing the number of players from their current 75-man limit to the league mandated regular season 53-player limit. According to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, the team has notified tight end Kyle Miller that he is being waived.
Miller joined the league initially as an undrafted free agent signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012. Eventually, he was cut and signed by the Indianapolis Colts, where he spent the majority of the season on the team's practice squad. However, he was eventually activated and appeared in one game for the Colts, who promptly waived him after that game, likely expecting him to clear waivers to then be placed back on their practice squad.
That did not happen, as the Dolphins claimed the rookie tight end, making him the fourth stringer at the position.
Currently, the Dolphins have tight ends Charles Clay, Dion Sims, Harold Hoskins, and Evan Wilson on the roster.
All 32 teams must reach the 53-man roster limit by 4pm ET Saturday.
