As Kevin reported here and was also reported elsewhere around the internet last evening, the Miami Dolphins have hired former Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino to be a special advisor. He is expected to report the Dolphins owner, Steven Ross and others within the organization. At this point his exact duties have not been outlined by him, Ross or the team. The release only stated that "Marino will work with the organization in a variety of different capacities.".
Ross stated per the release-
Dan is and will always be an important part of the Miami Dolphins and we are excited to get him involved in a more formal way," Ross said. "Dan is unquestionably one of the greatest players in NFL history and his enthusiasm and passion for the Dolphins is inspiring to everyone here.
In response to the hiring Marino was quoted as saying-
