Johnny Manziel jersey tops sales, Ryan Tannehill cracks top 20

The NFL has announced the top selling jerseys on NFL.com over the past few months, starting in April and running through mid-July.  Who took the top spot?  Not surprisingly, it went to Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel.  Rookie quarterbacks always sell well, and when you add in the hype and charisma that surrounds the Heisman Trophy winner, plus a city starving for wins since returning to the league in 1999, there were not a lot of players that were going to stand between Johnny Football and the top selling jersey.

Behind Manziel, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, and Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman round out the top five.

The list of jerseys from the NFL listed the top 25 sellers.  Did Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill make the list?  He did, coming in as the 19th best selling jersey in the NFL.

Tannehill comes in just before another Florida quarterback, rookie Blake Bortles, who was drafted from the University of Central Florida to play with the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Tannehill comes in ahead of Seattle safety Earl Thomas, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.
