We've reached the point in the NFL calendar where we really start getting a look at the 2014 season. While free agency and the NFL Draft are the obvious big time events, the NFL schedule release is not far behind them. Today, the first step in that release, the preseason schedule, was announced.
The Miami Dolphins will open preseason Week 1 at the Atlanta Falcons. They will then continue the road trip with a Week 2 game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The club will return home for Preseason Weeks 3 and 4, hosting the Dallas Cowboys and the St. Louis Rams, respectively.
The NFL has not yet set exactly which days each of those games will be played, but the range for Week 1 is August 7-10, Week 2 is August 14-18, Week 3 is August 21-24, and Week 4 will be August 28.
The regular season schedule is expected to be released in "mid-April," so it's just a week or two away. One game for the Dolphins is already slated, as the team will travel to London to face the Oakland Raiders, in a home game for the West Coast team. That game will be played in Week 4, and most likely means both the Dolphins and Raiders will have a Week 5 bye next season. The full slate of Dolphins opponents are below.
