According to various media reports and confirmed by the Hamilton County jail, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was arrested last night on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. WISHTV.com was the first to report the arrest.
Bond for Irsay was set at $22,500.

According to WISHTV, Irsay was arrested at 11:41pm Sunday night. The Hamilton County jail website lists Irsay as having been booked into the facility at 3:07am Monday morning. The OWI charge is listed as a "stop for reseason other than erratic driving."
The jokes are going to come in this case, and you would hope that someone in Irsay's position, and with the money he has, better decisions would be made, like having a driver available at 11:41pm. Luckily, no one was hurt of killed in this situation. Criticism of Irsay for those choices, and for endangering others is warranted and understandable
There is a sad side to the story when it comes to Irsay, as well. An addict who has been sober since 2002, it appears he has had a major relapse. The Colts owner has repeatedly tweeted that he does not drink or do drugs and he hasn't in 15 years. While he should, rightfully, face the consequences for his alleged actions tonight, hopefully Irsay will also be able to get help for whatever caused this relapse.
