Let the countdown begin. The NFL announced today the Hall of Fame Game matchup for 2014, meaning we officially have the start date and game for the preseason. This year, the game will take place on August 3 and will feature the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants in Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
The game will take place the night after the 2014 Hall of Fame Enshrinement ceremony. Both the Bills and Giants will be represeneted in the ceremony as well, with wide receiver Andre Reed having played 15 of 16 NFL seasons with Buffalo and defensive end Michael Strahan spending his 15 year career with the Giants. Joining them will be linebacker Derrick Brooks, punter Ray Guy, defensive end Claude Humphrey, tackle Walter Jones, and defensive back Aeneas Williams.
This will make the fifth Hall of Fame Game appearance for the Giants, including playing in the first contest in 1962. The Bills will be in the game for the fourth time.
Last year, the Dallas Cowboys beat the Miami Dolphins 24-20 in the 2013 eidition of the Hall of Fame Game.
The game will air at 8pm ET on NBC.
