Dolphins waive Gator Hoskins, promote Gerell Robinson

The Miami Dolphins have announced the waiving of tight end Gator Hoskins and the promotion of Gerell Robinson.

The Miami Dolphins announced last night the promotion of tight end Gerell Robinson from the practice squad. Robinson joined the team's practice squad at the end of October, after starting his NFL career as a 2012 undrafted free agent signed by the Denver Broncos. He spent that season split between the Broncos and Arizona Cardinals practice squads.

He then re-signed with the Broncos before the 2013 season, spending that year and the start of this season on the Denver practice squad. The Cleveland Browns then poached Robinson from the Broncos in September, appearing in one game with the Browns before being waived in mid-October. He again signed with the Browns a few days later, only to once again be waived on October 25.

Robinson was a wide receiver at Arizona State in college.

To make space for the Robinson promotion, the Dolphins waived Gator Hoskins. In 10 games played, Hoskins recorded three receptions for 21 yards. He joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent this season out of Marshall.
