The New Orleans Saints come in to the night with a record that would seem to say that they have nothing left to play for at 5 and 8 but alas, in the crazy world of the NFL they are still in the running for a playoff spot as well as being a possible division winner. The Saints sit atop of the NFC South and can take sole control of their division with a win this evening. The Saints are coming off of a 41 to 10 drubbing last week at the hands of the Carolina Panthers who will become the leaders in the NFC South with a Saints loss this evening.
It may help the Saints bounce back from last weeks loss to the Panthers by playing the Chicago Bears this evening. The Bears are coming off of back to back losses, have all sorts of crazy internal organizational turmoil and have nothing to play for at this point with zero shot at making the playoffs. The Bears have the same terrible record as the Saints at 5 and 8 with the difference of course being that the Bears reside in the NFC North where the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers hold a tie for the lead in the division at 10 and 4 each.
