2014 NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Arizona claims top spot

The Phinsider Power Rankings for Week 10.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Week 10 edition of the Phinsider NFL Power Rankings is here, and with it, some big moves find their way into the rankings. While there were no double digit moves this week, there was one fall that nearly hit that threshold.

What led to such a drastic fall? Well, in this case, a 37-0 drubbing. The San Diego Chargers have the biggest fall of the week, moving down nine spot after the Miami Dolphins manhandled them. The San Francisco 49ers were not far behind in the size of the drop category, plummeting seven position after a 13-10 loss to the St. Louis Rams. The Baltimore Ravens came in third in big losses, dropping six positions after a 43-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On the positive side, the Steelers claimed the biggest jump, moving up seven positions and into the top ten teams in the league. Back-to-back six touchdown pass performances from Ben Roethlisberger probably helped that rating. the Dolphins jumped six positions after their demolition of the Chargers was complete. The Minnesota Vikings, who have won two straight games and moved out of the NFC North basement saw a five position jump this week.

The Dallas Cowboys claimed the largest standard deviation this week, with rankings everywhere from sixth to twelfth. Our voters do not seem to know what to do with Dallas, who loss to the Arizona Cardinals this past weekend, but had to play without starting quarterback Tony Romo.

And, perhaps the strangest sentence every written in our Power Rankings, the Cardinals claimed the top spot after their win over the Cowboys and the Denver Broncos' loss to the New England Patriots.
